Check Meta Account Information
Make sure you log into the same Meta account on your computer/tablet and your headset. Both the casting device and headset need to be logged into the same Meta Account.
Check Browser
Make sure you’re using Google Chrome or Microsoft Edge. Casting with Meta Quest 2 is only compatible with these two browsers at the present.
Restart Devices
After ensuring you’re using the correct browser, the next thing you should try is restarting your headset, your phone, and the device you are casting to.
To restart your Meta Quest 2:
- Press the power button on your Meta Quest 2.
- Select “Restart.”
- Confirm by selecting “Restart” again.
- Your Meta Quest will now restart.
Check Wi-fi Networks
One of the most common causes of casting issues is having multiple devices connected to different Wi-Fi networks.
- Before you begin casting, make sure your headset and the device that you’re casting to are on the same Wi-Fi network and can directly communicate with each other.
If the above step doesn’t work,
- Disable and Enable Wi-Fi on both devices.
If your headset keeps dropping the connection while casting,
- this could be an issue with the Wi-fi network. Try restarting your router or resetting your headset.
Check for Software Updates
Check for software updates on your headset, phone, and your casting device.
- You can check for updates by going to Meta Quest’s settings menu and clicking Update.
Restart Your Router
If restarting your devices doesn’t work, try restarting your router. This will reset your Wi-Fi connection and may fix any issues causing the problem.
